A father fed up with his son’s bad grades is putting the middle schooler’s punishment on display.
The South Florida seventh grader had to stand at a busy intersection holding a sign of shame.
The sign reads “Hey, I want to be a class clown. It it wrong?”
The back says: “I’m in the 7th grade and got 3 F’s. Blow your horn if there’s something is wrong with that.”
Seventh grader Michael Bell is failing three classes.
“Civics, language arts and math.”
And his dad is out of ideas.
“I don’t know any other way. I’m trying to reach him. He doesn’t want to be reached and this is my last resort.”
So Michael’s punishment for getting bad grades: spending his spring break here at this busy intersection, wearing a sign that tells the world he’s, “a class clown.”
.”If you don’t do right then you get a lot of stuff taken from you,”
We’ve seen it before, these two South Florida students similarly punished for fighting.
So while Michael’s friends enjoy their spring break MIchael will be here thinking about his studies.
“They’ll probably be going out to parties, going to Sunset, playing video games, hanging out at home.”
“I’m sorry that it has to get to this point and that when I get back to school, I’m going to do better.”
Dad certainly hopes so.
He just wants the boy who shares his name to make something of himself.
“If I don’t do nothing, he’s going to be a statistic and I don’t want him to be a statistic.”

We shouldn’t have a problem with this not knowing the full story, because maybe the Father was at the end of his rope as to what to do with his son. Also in the news this weekend was a Mother who did somewhst the same thing because her son was stealing. She made him stand outside with a sign saying I’m a thief and I steal for a living..
