White House Correspondent April Ryan has a unique vantage point as the only African America female reporter covering urban issues from the White House – a position she’s held since the Clinton era. On behalf of the American Urban Radio Networks (AURN), and through her “Fabric of America” news blog, Ryan delivers her readership and listeners – that is, millions of African Americans and close to 300 radio affiliates — a unique urban and minority perspective in news. Her position as a White House correspondent has afforded her unusual insight into the racial sensitivities, problemi, and attendant political struggles of our nation’s last three presidents. She can be seen almost daily on television as a political analyst on cable news, namely MSNBC, and its lineup of programs, such as “Hardball with Chris Matthews.” Ryan is the author of the award winning book, “The Presidency in Black and White” and the forthcoming book, “At Mama’s Knee: Mothers And Race In Black And White,” due for release in January 2017.
Readers can get a copy of her book at the Leimert Park Village Book Fair on Saturday, Agosto 20th da 10 am. a 6 pm. on the outdoor promenade of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza mall.
