Referred to as a “Warrior Angel” by the editor of the Pasadena Weekly, she was a recipient of the Shirley Fields volunteer award from the US House of Representatives and the Pasadena NAACP, and she was a highly decorated police officer injured in the line of duty before becoming a civil rights attorney. She has been named as one of the “Top 100” National Trial Lawyers since 2014. Caree Harper represented 19-year-old Kendrec McDade killed by Pasadena Police in 2012; Clinton Alford who was beaten, kicked and spat on by LAPD in 2014; freeway beating survivor Marlene Pinnock (whose assailant she had fired from the CHP as part of the Settlement Agreement); #BLM protestors who blocked the freeway in 2016 and most recently Reginald Thomas who was killed by six Pasadena Police Officers.
