Para 10 años, Caree Harper handled countless cases for the Pasadena Branch of the NAACP pro bono. En 2012, Caree was an active volunteer and registered voters.
En 2014, Caree settled a wrongful death case involving 19-year-old Kendrec McDade, who was killed by Pasadena police and later that same year Caree obtained a $1.5 mil. settlement for CHP beating survivor Marlene Pinnock and had the terms of the termination of the officer embodied in the Settlement Agreement – setting precedent. En 2016, Caree defended the #BlackLivesMatter protestors in L.A. who were criminally charged with blocking the freeway after Ferguson, pro bono. There were no convictions.
Caree represented Clinton Alford, Walter DeLeon, and Michelle Cooks. Reginald Thomas, affectionately known as “Daddy Daycare” was recently killed by Pasadena PD after suffering a medical emergency and calling the police for help, Ms Harper currently represents the family in a case sure to raise eyebrows in that the defendant officers have taken the 5th and refused to testify.
