Autumn Breon Williams works to reimagine a global narrative of Africa through the lenses of education and art and is thrilled to join the MetaArts team. A graduate of Stanford University, Autumn Breon studied Aeronautics and Astronautics and researched aeronautical astrobiology applications for NASA. As the only woman of color in her cohort and dissatisfied with the lack of representation in her field, Autumn founded STEMgineers Shifting Gears, a STEM-focused after school, tutoring, and summer program based in Watts, CA that encourages students’ intellectual curiosity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through project-based learning. Her work to further the dialogue on educational equity led to her role as Executive Director of the African Schools for Excellence, a network of independent schools in South Africa. Autumn Breon works as a Contemporary African Art dealer, brokering art between artists and collectors in Europe, África, and the States. Her work has been recognized by the Smithsonian Institution Aspen Institute, TED, and the Obama Foundation. As a founding MetaArts Art Advisor, Autumn Breon looks forward to bringing her experience and passion for the global contemporary art scene to her hometown of Los Angeles.

Exploring ideas of blackness globally, he illustrates his disciplined research with experimental images and video art. His pieces entice the viewer to contemplate difficult questions and spark conversations. Tolbert encourages viewers to reconsider their role in social construction, civil rights, and white hegemony. He earned his B.A. en Sociología & Art California State University, Bakersfield, completed his certification in Art & Marketing from Sotheby’s in London and continued his studies at Claremont Graduate University where he received his MFA in Studio Art. In addition to working as an artist in Los Angeles, Jamaal Hasef is passionate about educating both young artists and art novices. He has worked as a visiting artist and lecturer at USC and Getty Unshuttered instructor and hopes to continue bringing art to his community through MetaArts.
