It started as an idea in 1984. The blueprints were designed and the cart was built, in 1986. E, 2 fratelli, Cary and Duane Earle, started selling hot dogs on Venice Beach that same year. Their idea? To sell the same authentic New York hot dogs they grew up eating in East Flatbush, Brooklyn NY as kids. Some saw their concept as a lofty dream until the people started lining the sidewalk and the demand was enough to warrant opening a restaurant, in 1992. Since then the Earle family has evolved into a thriving restaurant within the heart of the Crenshaw district. E, they have expanded the original menu to ensure there’s something for everyone.
