Julian Bond, the civil rights icon and former NAACP chairman who died after a brief illness, was remembered Sunday as a hero who helped lead a generation against racism. 他是 75.
Bond, who brought the NAACP back to credibility during his longtime chairmanship and who was the first black American nominated as vice president, died Saturday night in Fort Walton Beach, 佛罗里达州, the Southern Poverty Law Center said Sunday.
