Assembly Member Shirley Nash Weber was elected in November of 2012 to represent California’s 79th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Bonita, Chula Vista, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City, and San Diego. I am honored to say, during my years attending San Diego State University, 博士. Shirley Weber served as professor over the Africana Studies Department in which I minored. She was a force to be reckoned with and always on the frontline in her fight for public education and uplift of the black community.
