Dr. Tracy Shaw is the Assistant Director and Training Coordinator of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program at Loyola Marymount University’s Student Psychological Services. She is also a licensed psychologist in the state of California. Dr. Shaw received her Masters and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a minor in substance abuse and sport psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1986 and 1988 respectively.
Dr. Shaw, among her many areas of expertise, has created a specialization in the field of sport psychology. Dr. Shaw has been certified as a sport consultant with the Olympic symbol Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology and previously listed in the United States Olympic Committee Sport Registry, as a qualified sport psychologist. She is a sport psychologist with the Unites States Track and Field Federation and the United States Figure Skating Association. Dr. Shaw has provided sport consultation in the following areas (i.e., confidence building, sport anxiety, goal setting, focus training and team building).
Currently, Dr. Shaw provides sport’s consultation to students, coaches, and athletic administration at Loyola Marymount University’s Athletic Department. USCUcla
She has consulted with the University of Texas Women’s Track & Field National Championship teams, UCLA Women’s Track & Field National Championship and Pacific 10 Conference Championship teams and with UCLA and USC men’s and women’s sport teams.
She has assisted many athletes to positions of excellence, producing, national champions, collegiate record holders, national and world rankings and Olympians. Dr. Shaw was a team psychologist for the 1997 Junior Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba, the 1998 International Amateur USA Track & Field Athletic Federation World Cup Games in Johannesburg, South Africa, the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, Canada, the 2003 Indoor Championships in Birmingham, England, and the 2003 Outdoor Championships in Paris, France. Dr. Shaw served as one of two sport psychologists with the USA Track & Field Team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
