Ethel Jackson is a part of the Worker Advisory Committee for the LA Black Worker’s Center for the past 2 years. Ethel is based in South Central Los Angeles and has been an inspirational mentor to many workers who have come through the LABWC.
Malcolm Harris started organizing with the Community Coalition (CoCo), before heading to the AmASSI (African American, Support Services & Survival Institute) Health and Wellness Center of South Central LA. While at AmASSI, he coordinated a variety of programs that addressed general health, economic and social issues impacting the lives of people of African descent. For 10 years he worked as an Organizing Coordinator with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). For the last 4 years, before coming to the LA BWC, he was the Director of Programs and Organizing with TRUST South LA, a community-land trust in South Central.
