El Sr.. Silver was a guest on the legendary musician, Johnny Otis Radio Show, on KPPC, en 1976.
I called in on the program, and won an album by Mr. Otis, and conversed with Mr. Silver, también. I told Mr. Silver that he should sue Steely Dan for ripping off the bass line from “Canción para mi padre” for their song, “Rikki Don’t lose that Number”.
El Sr.. Silver laughed, y el Sr.. Otis said, “His lawyer’s looking into that”, and i laughed, también. I still have Johnny Otis’ album to this day. I wish more people would be aware, especially Black people, of the great music that is around us.
Just wanted to put my thoughts out there. Horace Silver, gonna miss you, señor. RIP.
