In Studio with Skip Townsend & Big John

Skip Townsend and Big John were in the studio today discussing their 2nd Call organization which provides hope for those who have been  disenfranchised and neglected. 2nd Call facilitates a coordinated strategy and effort with  gang intervention agencies and local law enforcement on creating dialogue with neighboring street gangs in mediating peace and understanding along with safe passage for all community members. 2nd Call facilitates classes and group meetings, weekly at several locations, to prepare participants for employment resources. 2nd Call members also have Anger Management/ Domestic Violence and Batterers Intervention certification to offer guidance and leadership in how to function in dysfunction. Each year 2nd Call organizes community events to build and empower relationships between stakeholders, business owners, community members and local enforcement. 2nd Call assists, in referring participants to transitional housing and sober living homes. The organization works directly with volunteer tutors & the L.A.C.O.E Schools in assisting young adults in continuing the educational process. 2ndCall also works directly with the I.B.E.W & several other local union representatives in assisting the participants that have completed 2nd Call’s “Job Readiness & Job Retention” course. 2nd Call assists individuals with life skills and gainful employment based on their own determination and commitment for success.
