Jasmyne Cannick

As a strategist, Jasmyne Cannick has worked at all levels of government developing custom-tailored communications strategies and messages for elected officials, political campaigns, and non-profit organizations. She successfully served several terms as a Press Secretary in the California State Assembly before going to Washington to work in the House of Representatives. Locally she’s worked for several city and county governments in the areas of public affairs and communications. Aujourd'hui, as a public affairs and communications strategist, Jasmyne continues to work on numerous local, state and federal candidate and ballot measure campaigns in California and has also expanded her practice to include working with some of California’s top criminal defense and civil rights attorneys.

When she’s not working, nationally Ms. Cannick is known for her ability to speak truth to power as a journalist and television and radio commentator focusing on political, race and social issues causing her to be selected as one of ESSENCE Magazine’s 25 Les femmes façonnent le monde, l'un des Most Influential African-Americans in Los Angeles Under 40 and one of Los Angeles’ Most Fascinating Angelenosby the L.A. Hebdomadaire. A forward thinker with the ability to tackle hard to address issues from an unapologetically Black point of view, Jasmyne continues to successfully bring a logical mindset, including innovative theories to the art and practice of storytelling in the 21st century. Mme. Cannick is known for her efforts to shape public opinion and encourage civic engagement for positive social change while advocating for underrepresented and marginalized communities.
