Louis Brent is a Ready 2 Work Organizer for the Los Angeles Worker Center. Raised in the city of Compton, and now a native of Long Beach, California, he brings a passion for economic, salud, and racial justice for working-class and underserved communities. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology of Social Behavior with a double in Criminology, Ley, and Society, as well as a minor in African-American Studies from the University of California, Irvine. As an undergrad, he led a team of researchers in the development of a thesis centered around creating a solution to increase academic retention for Black students in higher-level education. He also led advocacy movements on various campaigns for college students ranging from the reduction of tuition costs to providing adequate resources for underserved groups. When not working he likes to read, ejercicio, go to the beach, and eat vegan food. He believes in collective Black power, and that monumental change can happen when we come together as one.
