Mme. Garland is a lead organizer for LABWC local and statewide campaigns. She also supports workers’ efforts in getting support on labor and anti-discrimination laws to build worker cases for workplace injustice, through our UCLA legal aid clinic partnership. Mme. Garland has over 6 years’ experience as a labor organizer and has organized thousands of people to rally for family sustainable jobs and unionization in the Los Angeles and San Francisco area. Before coming to LABWC, Mme. Garland was a Peggy Browning Fellow at UNITE Here! Local 2, She also worked as a Law Clerk/Paralegal at Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers Inc., advocating for indigent parents in order to retain or regain custody of their children, researched dependency law, prepares cases, drafts arguments, discovery request, and motions. Mme. Garland received her B.A. Politics University of California Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz, California and J.D. Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Cleveland (2017).
