This is probably one of the most poetically beautiful things I’ve seen in recent days. A public school in Mississippi that was named after the first and only president of the losers Confederacy, will now be renamed to honor the first black president of the United States. According to NBC News, the Davis Magnet International Baccalaureate Elementary School in Jackson, will now be called the Barack Obama Magnet International Baccalaureate Elementary, starting the beginning of the next school year, the school’s PTA president Janelle Jefferson announced at a Jackson Public Schools Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday night.
