Stephanie Linus & Ayuko Babu

Stephanie Linus is a Nigerian actress/filmmaker with an infectious personality. She has earned a reputation as Africa’s foremost actress, especially in Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry, which The New York Times reported to be the world’s third largest. She has starred in more than 100 films and has received several awards and nominations for her work as an actress. Beyond her work as an actress, she is passionate about women’s rights and strongly advocates against early child marriage. Through her foundation “Extended Hands”, she has done extensive work in the field of Vesico Vaginal Fistula. This has earned her the Miriam Makeba Award for Excellence in 2007, and the Beyond the Tears Humanitarian Award for her work against rape and VVF. Stephanie is also passionate about raising her voice against electoral violence. Ayuko Babu is an international cultural, political and legal consultant specializing in Pan African affairs. He has been the Executive Director of the Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF) desde 1992. In addition to PAFF, El Sr.. Babu currently serves as a permanent member of the jury of the annual Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. AMAA is the world’s largest Pan African film awards event, covering the continent of Africa and its worldwide Diaspora. Desde 2016-2018, El Sr.. Babu served on the California Film Commission. En 2015, El Sr.. Babu was honored by the California Legislative Black Caucus for his work as founder and executive director of the Pan African Film & Arts Festival as part of the Black History Month Celebration “A Century of Black Life, History and Culture.” The special ceremony was held on the floor of the State Assembly at the state capitol in Sacramento, California. El Sr.. Babu was nominated for this honor by the Honorable Holly J. Mitchell, State Senator (D-30th District).

En los últimos años, El Sr.. Babu was a consultant to the late Bishop H.H. Brookins, of the African Methodist Episcopal Church when Bishop Brookins’ district covered southern Africa.
