Tony Cornelius
The first phase of my journey starts in the sometimes cold, icy, mid-west. Originally born and raised in the windy city of Chicago Illinois to the parents of Donald and Delores Cornelius. My mother, a pre-school teacher, and homemaker, my father better known as Don Cornelius, businessman and creator of the very popular Soul Train. A weekly dance show lasting 37 ans. It originated in Chicago in 1971, moving to Los Angeles in 1974. Soul Train holds the title as the longest-running first-run syndicated show in television history. My brother, Raymond Cornelius, resides in Chicago working as a hair stylist. The two of us
where surrounded by the sound of music our entire lives. Cependant, these humble beginnings saw a very hard working mom and dad trying to raise two boys in the mean streets of Chicago. But one thing for sure, love was always in the air. My mom, a loving and devoted wife with a passion for education. My father, a man with a fiery desire to make something of his life whatever the cost. Malheureusement, as life has it, dans 1971 we were stricken by divorce, which left my mom to raise two young boys. My father, with a new career in music & télévision, served as a financial supporter and part-time disciplinarian, my mom, heartbroken with an iron-clad devotion to her children and faith in god.
